Jaylie lives in the Blue Ridge region of the Appalachian Mountain Range, giving her a deep connection to the area which is reflected in the descriptions of the land and people in her series. She is passionate about writing strong women characters,representing mental and physical health issues in her books, and bringing awareness to the needs of the people of Appalachia after the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene.
