Jasjit Singh
Jasjit Singh (1934–2013) was an Indian Air Force officer, strategic affairs expert, defense analyst, and author. After serving as an Air Commodore in the Indian Air Force, he became one of India's most influential voices on national security, nuclar policy, arms control, and international relations.
He was the founder-director of Institute for Defence Studies and Analyses (IDSA), where he played a key role in shaping strategic studies and security policy research in India. Through his books, articles, and policy analyses, Jasjit Singh contributed significantly to debates on nuclear deterrence, defense modernization, and regional security in South Asia.
Among his notable works is Nuclear Deterrence and Diplomacy, which examines the relationship between nuclear strategy and international diplomacy.
