Jane Addams
Jane Addams (1860-1935) was an American social reformer and activist who co-founded Hull House in Chicago, a pioneering settlement house that provided social and educational services to immigrants and the urban poor. Addams was a leading figure inthe Progressive Era, advocating for social justice, women's rights, and peace. She was the first American woman to receive the Nobel Peace Prize in 1931 for her efforts in promoting peace and social welfare.
