Jamil AkhtarDr. Jami Akhtar is an Assistant Professor of Islamic Studies at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, Pakistan. He holds a Ph.D. in Islamic Studies and earned his MS in Comparative Study of Religions from the International Islamic University, Islamabd. A scholar of wide-ranging academic engagement, Dr. Jamil was honored in 2021 with the prestigious “International Postdoctoral Scholarship” awarded by the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC), Pakistan. This enabled him to undertake advanced postdoctoral research for ten months at the Oxford Centre for Religion and Culture, Regent’s Park College, University of Oxford, under the mentorship of Professor Dr. Paul Weller. His distinguished academic profile includes the authorship of several books and numerous research articles, some of which have appeared in peer-reviewed and impact factor journals. His intellectual contributions to the study of the Prophetic Seerah have been recognized through three ‘Presidential Awards’ conferred by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Government of Pakistan. In 2022, he was selected for two elite international summer programs: one at Harvard Divinity School (hybrid) and another at the Oxford Centre for Muslim-Christian Studies (in-person). With over a decade of teaching and supervision experience at graduate and doctoral levels, Dr. Jamil has presented at numerous academic forums across the globe, including in the USA, UK, Germany, Turkey, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia.
