James Ramsay

James Ramsay is an Anglican priest who, following his retirement from full-time ministry, now lives and writes in north Norfolk. His work explores the intersections of faith, literature, and lived experience, with particular interests in prayer, sripture, mortality, and the Christian spiritual tradition. Among his publications are Monuments to a Stolen Revolution, and Other Poems from Bucharest (2014), which drew on his experiences in Romania, and The Way and the Truth and the Life (SLG Press, 2024), a meditation on the Gospel according to John. A thoughtful essayist as well as a poet, he writes on subjects ranging from death and dying to prayer, evil, and the life of faith, drawing on scripture, literature, and the wider Christian tradition. Through both verse and prose, Ramsay offers a theologically subtle and linguistically rich exploration of the search for the sacred.
