James ParkesWith his magisterial work in 1934, The Conflict Between Church and Synagogue, James Parkes (1898-1981) laid the foundation for Christian re-thinking of its relationship to Judaism, and its understanding of anti-semitism as a theological sin. Much of ur present Christian-Jewish dialogue is based on work that Parkes did in the 1940s and 1950s.
