James K. WhitesellJames K. Whitesell, who is married to Marye Anne Fox, is a member of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of California, San Diego. Previously, he taught at North Carolina State University where he was a Professor of Chemisry. Dr. Whitesell's research interests include stereochemistry, both in a molecular and a supramolecular sense, which is a key element in drug discovery and design. Some of his recent publications include “Influence of Molecular Dipole Interactions on Solid-State Organization”, “Molecular-Crystal Engineering by Shape Mimicry”, and “Directionally Aligned Helical Peptides on Surfaces”.
