James C. CarperJames C. Carper is Professor of Foundations of Education and Coordinator of Programs in Educational Psychology, Research, and Foundations of Education at the University of South Carolina.  He earned his B.A. in American History at Ohio Wesleyan Univesity and his Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education at Kansas State University.  His research interests include history of education in the United States, education and religion, and private schools.  He is president of Associates for Research on Private Education.
