J Derek ScastaJ. Derek Scasta is an Associate Professor and Extension Rangeland Management Specialist in the Ecosystem Science and Management Department at the University of Wyoming. He teaches an applied fire ecology course, conducts research on prescribed fire ad wildfire, and helped to form the Wyoming Prescribed Fire Council. Since 2008, he has participated in more than 50 prescribed burns in six US states.
