Ilse Valencia

Ilse is a children's author, illustrator, and mother who blends technical expertise with heartfelt storytelling. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's in Engineering Management from Johns Hopkins University/strong>, with additional undergraduate coursework in Positive Psychology. This blend of scientific curiosity and emotional resilience shapes how she writes for children.

The idea for The Glow in Me came after becoming a mother. Looking at her daughter, Ilse realized that one day she would be out in the world on her own - and that the greatest gifts we can give our children are self-love and confidence. As a military spouse, she's also seen firsthand how children grow stronger when they carry that light within them, no matter where life takes them. That belief became the heart of this book.

As the founder of Rosemark Publishing, Ilse debuted her first title, The Glow in Me, weaving the science of light into a story about self-esteem. By pairing affirmations with real scientific concepts, she invites young readers to discover their own inner light while sparking a lifelong love of curiosity and discovery.
