Ido Baum
Ido Baum is a Senior Lecturer at the Haim Striks School of Law in the College of Management-Academic Studies (COMAS) in Israel, where he also holds the position of Director of the Integrated Study Programmes. He teaches and researches in th fields of Procedural Law, Law and Economics, Media Law, Payment Law and Securities Law.
In 2007, Dr Baum obtained his doctoral degree from the Graduate College Law & Economics at Hamburg University, Germany, summa cum laude. He wrote his dissertation on 'Economic Analysis of Professional Testimonial Privileges' and it was subsequently published by Gabler Publishing. Dr Baum was a visiting researcher at Boalt Hall School of law at UC Berkeley during the spring term 2006 and at the University of Tilburg Law and Economics Center (Tilec) during the spring term 2012.
Dr Baum obtained his bachelor and master degrees in law from Tel Aviv University, Israel, and a European master in law and economics (EMLE), cum laude, for which he was also awarded the best dissertation prize for his thesis on 'The Influence of Concentration of Ownership in the Media Business on Information Delivered to Consumer'.
Before joining the Haim Striks School of Law in Israel, Dr Baum worked as an attorney for the Claims Resolution Tribunal on Dormant World War II Era Swiss Bank Accounts in Zurich, Switzerland. Prior to embarking on an academic career, he served as the spokesperson of the Israeli Ministry of Justice and as the legal assistant of the Israeli Attorney General for civil, fiscal and administrative affairs.
