Henry S Gillette
Henry S. Gillette's upbringing as a child was among authors, artists, and musicians. He studied art and design at the National Academy of Design in New York City, The Grand Central Art School, The American School of Art, and at Th Art Students League in New York City. He lived and worked in Italy for several years. Gillette was recognized throughout his life for his talents in a variety of media, including painting, book illustration, and teaching. He authored and illustrated numerous books about artists or other notable people for children and adults.
