Henry P. TalbotHenry P. Talbot was an American chemist who worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He was born on May 15, 1864, in Boston, Massachusetts, and died on June 18, 1927. He did a lot to improve the reputation of the university's research andteaching. Talbot went to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and got a bachelor's degree in analytical chemistry in 1885. After that, he worked as a scientific assistant and then taught analytical chemistry at MIT. He then went to Leipzig University to continue his education. He went there to study organic and physical chemistry and got his Ph.D. in 1890. Then he went back to MIT to keep working as a teacher. In 1892, MIT made him an assistant professor, and in 1895, they made him an associate professor. Between 1892 and 1894, he also taught at Wellesley College.
