Helen BenjaminYears ago, Helen Benjamin was described by one of her college professors as being "concerned about the world and those who people it." Throughout her life, she has focused on the underserved, having been in that category herself. She looks back with ride and appreciation for the life-altering education and support she received from Peabody High School. Dr. Benjamin holds a bachelor's degree in English from Bishop College, and master's (education) and doctoral degrees (English with a concentration in rhetoric) from Texas Woman's University, which recognized her as Distinguished Alumna in 2017. In 2019, the American Association of Community Colleges honored her with its Leadership Award in recognition of her contributions to the community college field. Since retiring, Dr. Benjamin established HSV Consulting, Inc., and she has worked with dozens of colleges, boards, and CEOs to advance student-centered organizational and leadership improvement.
