Harry Belafonte
Harry Belafonte (1927-2023) was a singer, actor, and activist of Caribbean-American ancestry who won three Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, and a Tony Award. His 1956 album Calypso made him the first artist in history to sel more than one million albums. He was awarded the National Medal of Arts by President Clinton, served as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, and received the Kennedy Center Honors for excellence in the performing arts.
