His long career included novels, magazine stories, film work, and television writing, and he received a Spur Award for his western fiction.Norbert Davis was born in Morrison, Illinois, in 1909. He studied law before becoming a professional writer and contributed extensively to pulp magazines including Black Mask and Dime Detective.
