Hallie Kay Yopp, Ph.D., teaches literacy methods courses at California State University, Fullerton. The author of numerous articles and several books on literacy development, she served as a lead writer of California’s ELA/EL framework (K–12). Hallie presents at state, national, and international conferences. She is an inductee into the California Reading Hall of Fame and is the recipient of CSU Fullerton’s Outstanding Professor of the Year Award and a CSU Excellence Award. Hallie taught young children for many years, primarily in a bilingual public school setting, and continues to collaborate with agencies and organizations to serve children and their families. She is the coauthor of Vocabulary Instruction for Academic Success and Purposeful Play for Early Childhood Phonological Awareness.
