He is the recipient of grants and fellowships from the NEA and Washington State Artist Trust, as well as a Washington State Book Award. His fourth book of short fiction, Brake For Miracles, will be published in 2027 by Cornerstone Press, as well as a short memoir, Whale Vision (Lynx House Press).
