Greg LancasterThis author has lived a life that has included, more times than not, a drive to set everything in his life off to the side to pursue his often very incredible and seemingly nearly impossible dreams! And sometimes, very foolishly, wanting only to believe that I would be able to do all things that I chose to do, whether I knew how to do them, get to where I wanted to go, or not! And if some dreams were more difficult to attain than I had ever believed they would be? I just believed that as long as I was "determined" to attain what my heart and mind were set on accomplishing, I would always somehow arrive at the destination of my goal. And this included living in three different states for many years at a time, building businesses that I believed would always succeed, especially if my journey included determination, perseverance, tenacity, grit, and an absolute refusal to ever, ever, ever give up! NEVER GIVE UP, REGARDLESS OF HOW BAD THE SITUATION APPEARED TO BE AT THE TIME! And beyond the insatiable business-building drive, as a twenty-year-old young man, I chose to leave Minnesota and move myself up to the Alaskan mountain ranges with no idea what I was going to do when I arrived there! And then to give myself to all the exciting Alaskan adventures that I had never previously even dreamed might be possible for a young man who had only lived and experienced the flatlands of northern Minnesota, where there was not a hill to be found! And my mindset was always to throw myself completely at my dreams, always believing that success would come, but "failure" could never come my way! What a fool was I! And when failure somehow showed up on my doorstep? Just accept it as a learning experience, and move on to the next adventure, business, or otherwise! Unfortunately, although I had given myself to the Winston Churchill quotation that says, "Success is not final, failure is not fatal, it is the courage to continue that counts." To my great surprise, the life that I had chosen to live seriously challenged much of what I had given myself to be. But now, after seventy-one years of life, some amazing successes did come my way. But the failures also showed up, too! And at times, I truly wondered if I would survive all that they brought with them, seemingly determined to destroy all that I was and ever hoped to do and be!
