Gordon GrayIn 1969 Gordon Gray joined the Royal Navy where he completed a Short Service Commission as an executive officer. Following training, he served as a seaman officer, travelling all over the world. After leaving the Royal Navy, he joined a deep sea trawing company in Hull as the electronics manager, but moved to the marine electronics industry, as a salesman, in the late 1970s. He travelled all over the world and during his career he worked for some of the UK’s top electronic defence companies. He retired in 2006 and now lives in Scotland. He developed an eye for travel writing and his first book, Passing Ships (Amberley Press, 2012), covers his time at sea.
