George Lamming
George Lamming was a novelist, writer and essayist. Born in Barbados in 1927, he emigrated to Britain in 1950 where became a key voice of the Caribbean diaspora. In 1967 he became writer-in-residence and lecturer at the University of West Indies. e is the author of The Pleasures of Exile.
