George EgglestonRenowned writer and Confederate Civil War veteran, George Cary Eggleston (1839-1911) was born in Indiana but eventually moved to Virginia, where he inherited the family plantation. He briefly studied law at Richmond College before entering the Confedrate army. After the war, he pursued a writing career. He contributed to such publications as the New York Evening Post and New York World, where he worked under Joseph Pulitzer. Eggleston is also the author of Red Eagle, a Firebird Press book.
