Gary Barnes

Gary A. Barnes and his wife, Trudy, are the proud parents of seven children and nineteen grandchildren. Both he and Trudy have been actively involved in emergency preparedness for over 50 years. Gary has been the keynote speaker at numerous emergncy preparedness fairs and seminars in several states and has been an invited guest speaker at multiple meetings of the Civil Defense Volunteers of Utah (the Utah branch of TACDA--The American Civil Defense Association). Gary was one of the founders of EMPAC (Emergency Preparedness Action Committee), is CERT trained (Community Emergency Response Team, sponsored by FEMA), and is a certified Utah Radiological Monitor (monitoring radioactive fallout following a nuclear detonation). Professionally, Gary received a bachelor's degree and MBA (master's degree in business administration) from Brigham Young University and worked in the interior design industry, nutrition and manufacturing industries, as a computer programmer, real estate investor, and seminar instructor.
