He served as Research Director, Institute Director, and Vice President of the Natonal Centre for Scientific Research "Demokritos" (N.C.S.R. "Demokritos"). He pursued a successful career as a research scientist with wide international recognition. In 2020 he was awarded the European Bacq and Alexander Award by the European Radiation Research Society.
