G KallooGautam Kalloo Vice Chancellor, Jawaharlal Nehru Krishi Vishwa Vidyalaya, Jabalpur (M.P.) served as Deputy Director General (Horticulture), Deputy Director General (Crop Science), ICAR, New Delhi and Director, Indian Institute of Vegetable Research, Vranasi. He served 22 years in different capacities at CCS HAU, His ar. He did his Ph.D. in Genetics and Plant Breeding and has been awarded D.Sc. (Honoris Causa) by Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. He did his Post Doctorate from Germany. He is an author/editor of several books published from Paragon Press Oxford, Elsevier - Netherlands, Springer-Verlag, New York/Germany, CRC Press, Florida the United States etc. and has over 250 research papers/' articles to his credit. He has developed more than 40 crop varieties and associated in developing a series of network projects including mega seed project. In recognition of his meritorious and outstanding contribution in the field of Horticulture, Prof. Kalloo has been conferred upon with several prestigious awards including Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Award, ICAR Award of outstanding Multidisciplinary Team Research in Agriculture and Allied Sciences etc. He is a Fellow of National Academy of Agricultural Sciences besides President of Indian Society of Vegetable Sciences; President, Indian Society of Seed Science and Technology and; President, Indian Society of Oilseeds. He has widely travelled in various capacities. His mission is to modernize Agricultural Research System to enhance the efficiency and to generate' better technologies for the farmers and to establish best facility for teaching to produce quality students to serve the state/country. Dhirendra Khare, Ph.D. is a Senior Scientist, Plant Breeding and Genetics at JN Agricultural University (JNKW) Jabalpur, MP, India. He has about 80 publications, three edited and two text books apart from five technical bulletins published by ICAR on characterization of crop varieties, has 24 years teaching and research experience in plant breeding and seed technology. He is life and fellow member of Indian Society of Genetics and Plant Breeding and Indian Society of Seed Technology. At present, he is associated with Seed Technology Research of NSP (Crops) with main emphasis on characterization of crop varieties, along with research on pigeon pea hybrids and HQP maize.
