Freya KlierBorn in 1950 in Dresden, Germany, Freya Klier is a documentary film-maker and author with a long history of political activism. In 1968 she was sentenced to 16 months imprisonment when her attempt to flee East Germany failed. In 1980 Klier became co-ounder of the GDR peace movement and in 1988 she was arrested along with other civil rights activists and stripped of her citizenship.
