Frederick G ThurberFrederick G. Thurber earned a BA in Computer Science from Brown University. He is a nature and science writer. After moving to Westport, Massachusetts he wrote about the wildlife of the Southcoast for over 20 years through his weekly column, "Woods & Waters" in the Dartmouth Chronicle and Westport Shorelines. He has also been a guest columnist at the Providence Journal, and produced an audio version of his nature essays for Rhode Island Public Radio.He is currently working on several books on science for middle grade readers and writes for Northern Woodlands magazine and Health Union.Mr. Thurber is the author of IN THE WAKE OF THE WILLOWS, the re-imagining of Mr. Toad and his river brethren that is a sequel to Kenneth Grahame's classic, THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS.In his spare time the author enjoys gardening with native plants and breeding rhododendrons.
