Faruk BirtekFaruk Birtek was born in Istanbul. He studied Economics at Cambridge and Sociology at Berkeley. He taught at the universities of Yale and Boğaziçi. He was a visiting faculty at Bielefeld (Germany) and Michigan (Ann Arbor). He was a senior visiting felow at Collegium Budapest in 2012. Currently he is a Professor Emeritus at Boğaziçi University.
