Everett B. ColeAmerican science fiction short story author Everett B. Cole, who lived from 1910 to 2001, was also a trained soldier. He participated in the Battle of Omaha Beach in World War II and served at Fort Douglas in Utah as a signal maintenance and propertyofficer until retiring in 1960. In Texas' Yorktown High School, he taught math, physics, and chemistry after earning a bachelor's degree in these subjects. In 1951, the science fiction tale "Philosophical Corps" by him was released in the Astounding magazine. The Philosophical Corps, his revision of the tale along with two others, was released by Gnome Press in 1962. The Best Made Plans, a second novel, was serialized in Astounding in 1959 but was never made into a book. He coauthored many books regarding Texas's southern region's history. Read More Read Less
