Nach Forschungsaufenthalten in Hamburg, Rom und Paris war er von 1999 bis 2003 Assistent am Kunsthistorischen Institt der Universität TÃ"bingen, wo er sich 2004 zum Thema der großen städtebaulichen Achse habilitierte.
