Eric Heyman

Eric Heyman grew up in and still lives in Cardiff, and before working as an illustrator, was a professional firefighter. Now based in his garden studio, he's entirely self-taught, having grown up dreaming of a career as a political cartoonist, insired over the years by artists including Peter Firmin, Quentin Blake, David McKee and Ronald Searle.

He's worked with the National Museum Cardiff and, the Welsh Books Council as well as numerous major publishing houses, and his art can be found not only gracing magical children's books, but in character designs, and on greeting cards and gifts.
