Eric Frattini

Eric Frattini fue corresponsal en Oriente Medio. Es autor de más de una veintena de ensayos, publicados en quince idiomas y en 42 países, entre los que destacan: Osama bin Laden, la espada de lá (2001); Mafia S.A. 100 Años de Cosa Nostra (2002); La Santa Alianza, cinco siglos de espionaje vaticano (2004); CIA, Joyas de Familia (2008); Mossad, La ira de Israel (2009), la tetralogía sobre la historia de los más famosos servicios de espionaje (CIA, KGB, Mossad, MI6); y Los cuervos del Vaticano (2012), en el que predijo la renuncia de Benedicto XVI. Su libro The Entity. Five Centuries of Secret Vatican Espionage (St. Martin's Press, New York, 2008) entró a formar parte de la biblioteca de estudios de inteligencia de la CIA en Langley.

En 2013 recibió en Italia el II Premio Nacional de Investigación Periodística por su trabajo de investigación sobre el caso «Vatileaks», que dio lugar a la publicación del libro Los cuervos del Vaticano, y en el mes de julio del mismo año recibió en la isla de Lípari el Premio Anual Strillaerischia (Italia) al Mejor Enviado Especial por su trabajo en Afganistán.

Eric Frattini was a Middle East correspondent. He is the author of more than twenty nonfiction books, published in fifteen languages and in 42 countries, including: Osama bin Laden, the Sword of Allah (2001); Mafia S.A. 100 Years of Cosa Nostra (2002); The Holy Alliance: Five Centuries of Vatican Espionage (2004); CIA: Family Jewels (2008); Mossad: Israel's Wrath (2009), the tetralogy on the history of the world's most famous intelligence agencies (CIA, KGB, Mossad, MI6); and The Vatican's Ravens (2012), in which he predicted the resignation of Benedict XVI. His book The Entity: Five Centuries of Secret Vatican Espionage (St. Martin's Press, New York, 2008) became part of the CIA's intelligence studies library in Langley.

In 2013, he received Italy's II National Award for Investigative Journalism for his research on the "Vatileaks" case, which led to the publication of The Vatican's Ravens. That same July, he was awarded the Annual Strillaerischia Prize (Italy) on the island of Lipari for being the Best Special Correspondent for his work in Afghanistan.
