Eleanor NilssonBorn in Stirling, Scotland, Eleanor Nilsson moved to Australia with her family in 1952 at the age of 12. The House Guest (1992) was winner of the 1992 Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Award for Older Readers, winner of theAlan Marshall Prize for Children's Literature in the 1992 Victorian Premier's Literary Awards and winner of the National Children's Book Award in the 1992 Adelaide Festival Awards for Literature. She now teaches courses in children's literature and the writing of children's books at the University of South Australia.
