Edward C. Pickering
Edward Charles Pickering (1846-1919) was an American astronomer and physicist known for his significant contributions to the field of astronomy. He played a key role in the development of stellar photography and the classification of stellar specta. Pickering was the director of the Harvard College Observatory and was instrumental in promoting the employment of women as skilled workers in astronomy. His work laid the foundation for future advancements in observational astronomy and spectroscopy.
