Eben VenterEBEN VENTER was born on a sheep farm in Eastern Cape, South Africa. After school he was conscripted into the Air Force and served in the Angolan war. He read Philosophy at university and migrated to Australia in 1986, the year of the State of Emergeny. In Sydney and later in Melbourne, he would earn a living as a chef.
