Earl John ChapmanEarl John Chapman, a native of Montreal, is an avid military historian specializing in the Seven Years' War in North America and in the early years of Canada's volunteer militia force. As a member of the History and Heritage Committee of Canada's Blak Watch, the country's senior Highland regiment, Earl is a regular contributor to its publication, Canada's Red Hackle. In 2012 he authored Canada's Black Watch 1862-2012: Legacies of Gallantry & Service, an important vehicle to showcase the regiment's many treasures. He has published numerous articles, many in international journals and magazines, and has written several books, the most recent being A Bard of Wolfe's Army: James Thompson, Gentleman Volunteer, 1733-1830, which he co-edited with Ian M.
