E. E. GdoutosProfessor E. E. Gdoutos is Director of the Laboratory of Applied Mechanics and Director of the Section of Design and Construction of Structures, Department of Civil Engineering, the Democritus University of Thrace. He is visiting Professor at the Uniersity of California at Santa Barbara and Davis; the Michigan Technological University; the National Technical University of Athens; and the University of Toledo. He is a member of the editorial board of the journals Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, Applied Composite Materials, and Advanced Composite Letters. Gdoutos is Fellow of ASME, and received the Distinguished Visiting Professorship Award from Toledo University in 1992. A member of the Structures and Materials Panel of AGARD since 1992, he serves on the Research Board of Advisors; is Fellow of the American Biographical Institute; and is Vice-Chairman of the Research Committee of the Democritus University of Thrace.
