His philosophy on story telling is based on the idea that children and adults should be at play as much as possible. Play includes two intertwined qualities--awe and concentration. Awe is the ability to see the beauty and wonder of life in anything and everything. Concentration is a focus on the joy of experiencing simple, everyday activities. The Fable of the Snake Named Slim was selected by the Mom's Choice Awards for excellence in family friendly media in the category of Children's Personal Growth & Development. It also received the prestigious Pinnacle Book Achievement Award by the National Association of Book Entrepreneurs in the category of Child Development.
