Don Newman

With a career spanning over forty years, including more than two decades as senior parliamentary editor of CBC Television News, DON NEWMAN is one of Canada's best-known and most well-respected journalists. He helped launch the coutry's first all-news channel, reported for The National, anchored special coverage and political programs and was a foreign correspondent with CTV and CBC, reporting from Washington, New York and the United Nations. A Member of the Order of Canada and a life member and former president of the Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery, Newman is the recipient of numerous awards, including a Gemini lifetime achievement award, the Charles Lynch Award for Outstanding Coverage of National Affairs and the Hy Solomon Award for Excellence in Public Policy Journalism. A writer, public speaker, political analyst and public affairs consultant, Newman is based in Ottawa and Toronto.
