Don CorbettDon Corbett is a retired police detective who has been honored with commendations by the Ohio Fraternal Order of Police's candidate for Member of the Year as well as Detective of the Year. Acknowledgements from people whose lives he's positively affeted also have been gratifying.Don has been a guest speaker in Montreal for the National Association of Truck Stop Operators; the Annual Investigators' School in Austin, Texas; the Arkansas State Police Major Crimes & Narcotics Conference On Traveling Criminals; and the International Homicide Investigation Seminar in Ohio. He has been a guest expert on CNN and HLN, and he's the Past President of the Ohio FOP Lodge 126.After leaving law enforcement, Don became the Senior Board Certified Investigator with NetJets, and took on the role of Assistant Airport Security Coordinator.Among the officers Don has mentored is retired FBI ASAC Robert Clark, who serves as the City of Los Angeles deputy mayor for public safety overseeing police and fire issues.After retiring, Don has used his expertise to review cold cases pro bono for victims' families concerned that law enforcement officials didn't do all that they could to solve their cases. He has rigorously fought the system by going above and beyond his responsibilities to obtain justice for those victims who could no longer do so for themselves.Don's law enforcement career came with costs. He has suffered from the effects of post-traumatic stress disorder, moral injury and workplace bullying, which ultimately resulted in his disability retirement from a profession that he loved.Don and his wife Marsha live in Ohio with Marlee, their Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
