Doc NguDoc Ngu writes about novel solutions to the world's most intractable conflicts under the A Frog-In-The-Well Solution banner. The website, words.docngu.net, lists his books in the series. Doc Ngu grew up in South Vietnam during the Vietnam War and hada post-colonial French education steeped in romantic ethos and the idyllic id. After the fall of South Vietnam in 1975, he was exposed to a totally different literary genre of socialist realism, communist absolutism, and id-killing collectivism. In 1979, he escaped Vietnam as a Boat People refugee and, one year later, was resettled in the U.S. Over the next several years, he discovered a new learning model: the American college education, which freed the id with intellectual interdisciplinary exposure. His chosen field further trained him in systematic problem-solving, analytical rigor, and creativity. In 1984, he graduated with highest honors in his engineering class, and in 1996, received his doctoral degree in Computer Science, hence the "Doc" in "Doc Ngu". From the crucible of romanticism, realism, and a mindset to bridge the two, emerge the outside-the-box answers to many boxed-in conundrums of the world -- some hail them as deus ex machina moments, others find them idiotic. The "Ngu" in "Doc Ngu" is an abbreviation of "", which is a common Vietnamese surname. It also means "idiot" in Vietnamese, and was chosen to acknowledge the expected critics. A frog in a well knows nothing beyond his small world but croaks all night long. Read More Read Less
