Dimitrios SotiropoulosDimitrios Sotiropoulos is a member of the teaching laboratory staff of the Department of Special Education of the University of Thessaly. His qualifications include a PhD on the use of digital technology in science education (University of Athens), aMaster's Degree (M.Sc.) in Science Education (University of Athens) and a Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) in Physics (AUTh). He has extensive experience in teaching at all levels of education and in training teachers in the use of new technologies in educational practice. He has taught computing and science at primary, secondary and post-secondary levels. At the tertiary level, for several years he has taught numerous courses on the pedagogical use of digital technology. He has also supervised students in the preparation of their postgraduate theses. He has also participated in a variety of European education programmes, including Erasmus+, Horizon 2020 and previous initiatives. His postdoctoral thesis concerned the design and implementation of a functional, user-friendly and useful web platform for teachers and students. His research interests focus on the scientific disciplines and the use of new technologies in education. In particular, his recent academic research focuses on the pedagogical integration of emerging technologies, especially Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI), in STEM and STEAM education.
