Dimitra Jackson SmithDimitra J. Smith is a Full Professor and former Department Head in the Department of Higher Education and Learning Technologies at East Texas A&M University (formerly Texas A&M University–Commerce). Dr. Smith has dedicated her career to empowering stdents and fostering inclusive educational environments. Her work centers on the intersections of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education and preparation, the evolving role of community colleges, mental health and substance abuse, and the lived experiences of underrepresented and underserved students.
