Dewey W RobertsDewey W. Roberts, II was born in 1945 to Dewey W. and Edna D. Roberts, at the end of World War II. He has four siblings: Gwendolyn, Sam, Reginald, and Charles. Attended Eastport Elementary, then Vine Middle School, and graduated from Austin High Schol in September 1963. Dewey, II began attending Tennessee State University in the fall of 1963 and was part of the famous "Aristocrat of Bands" for three years. Dewey, II worked for the Tennessee Valley Authority from 1968 to 1973. Dewey, II received a Bachelor of Science Degree from the University of Tennessee in 1971. Upon graduation, Dewey, II worked as a counselor at the Tennessee Technology Center in Knoxville, retiring after 36 years. Dewey, II co-founded the Committee for the Development of the Black Community, the TVA Minority Investment Forum, and the TVA Minority Employees Association.
