Dessie WilliamsDessie Horne Williams is a recently turned ninety year old retired English teacher who plied her in the Miami-Dade County Public System for thirty-two years. a 1957 graduate of Tallahassee's Florida A&M University, Ms. Williams is the divorced mother of two biological adult children, a son Lynell Bernard Jordan and a daughter, Rosemarie Williams (deceased); additionally, Williams is also the "adopted" mother of her second cousin, Robert Louis Battle. A lover of all things artistic, Williams has devoted her life to the pursuit of the joys found in literature, music, and the performing arts, and considers a moment a sixties Q and A session when her screen idol Bette Davis answered her question one of the high points of her life.
