Derek began his career in comic books writing The Legend of Isis for Blue Water Productions, before finding his home at Dabel Brothers Publishing. At DBP Derek has written Dean Koontz's Fer Nothing, Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist and Becca Fitzpatrick's Hush Hush, into Graphic Novel format. Currently, Derek is working on Michael J. Sullivans Riyria series for the comic book market. Derek contributed work on such comic titles as Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark-Hunter, Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files, George R. R, Martin's Wild Cards and The Hedge Knight Series, and Dean Koontz Frankenstein and Nevermore.
