David ZarafYitzhak Orpaz was born to a Chassidic family in Zinkov, USSR, in 1923 and immigrated to pre-state Israel in 1938. Orpaz has published nine books of stories and novellas, six novels, a trilogy, a book of essays and a collection of poetry.
