David VanderpoolDavid J. Vanderpool is a fine arts graphite pencil artist who lives with his wife and family at the southern end of the central valley of California. As a fine art artist, and graphic artist with over 25 years of experience in advertising and marketig, David had taken time out of his schedule for several solo art exhibits, shows, and for a period of three seasons taught a drawing class for inmates at two state prisons. All of his drawings are created using fine lines and crosshatching for shading. Never liking the results from using traditional blending stubs on his drawings, he has incorporated the method of using lighter pencils over the darker shades of gray as his blending tool. This allows the drawings to appear more realistic as the detail in the pencil lines to follow the contour and shape of each muscle or object.
