David LanceI was a full-time sports reporter from 1992-2007 at various newspapers across the country - Chicago Sun-Times, Times of Northwest Indiana, Fort-Worth Star-Telegram, Dayton Daily News, Dallas Morning News. There aren't too many sports I did not cover. Rodeo, Frisbee golf, auto racing (dirt tracks, big tracks), NFL, MLB, high school sports, etc ... Bored with that, I taught English as a Second Language in Madagascar from 2007-09. I've been a teacher ever since, in the South Bronx, Chicago, the Philippines and Alaska. I earned a Teaching of English master's at New York's Teachers College. I took all of the foundational classes for a PhD (DePaul University). I need now to write the dissertation. (There's the rub.)
