David K Shipler
David K. Shipler worked for the New York Times from 1966-1988, serving as Jerusalem bureau chief for five years. He won a George Polk Award for his coverage of the 1982 war in Lebanon and a DuPont-Columbia Award for his boadcast journalism coverage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He then joined the Washington bureau of The Times as the newspaper's chief diplomatic correspondent, and the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace as a feature writer.
